In 2005, while attending a National Bodybuilding Show, I had an opportunity to sample a new health food bar from a vendor. While it looked tasty, the taste and texture of the bar could be compared to having a mouthful of saw dust. Right then and there I made it my mission to develop something much better. After returning home I went right to work testing different recipes. My goal was to make a product that was not only good for you but also great tasting.

All my trial and error seemed to pay off with a recipe that everyone loved. Since they weren't yet named, everyone referred to them as "Goodies". I liked that and decided not to put them in a bar form like so many things out there, but instead chose to put them in the shape of a candy cup because they tasted so much like a treat--even though they were healthy.

After using my best friend and sister (one in the same) as a sounding board, I came up with the name "Goody Girls". Each Goody Girl is, and will be named for those females in my life whom have inspired me, taught me, and supported me.
